VVSU celebrated Student Day

27 января 2025 University life

Young people from Vladivostok celebrated Russian Student Day at VVSU. A free recreation and relaxation area for students was organized in the University's Winter Garden.

Student Day began unusually for students and guests of Vladivostok State University. From the very morning, the university set up a dozen stations for productive recreation. Among them were Tetris-relax, punching bags, massage and yoga zones, even an anonymous phone where students could talk about their accumulated problems.

"Student life is full of challenges. This leads to emotional overload, stress, and destructive habits. Therefore, the main idea of our event was to promote productive recreation and relaxation. It is important that the students pay attention both to their studies and to their physical and psychological state," said Konstantin Pospelov, head of the VVSU youth center.

In the evening, dozens of spectators gathered in the Winter Garden of VVSU. The university hall turned into a ring. But the participants were not boxers, but true gourmets. Sixteen students competed for victory in the traditional speed-eating competition "Always Hungry Student-2025".

The choice of dishes for the competition is similar to the theme of the day - anti-stress. The menu included fruits and berries that prevent depression and stress: apples, bananas, peaches, raspberries and blueberries.

For the first time in five years, the competition took on an international status. Students from the Middle East and Africa competed along with Russian students. Nikita Moskalenko, a student at the Institute of Information Technology and Data Analysis, won the final battle of the evening.

“I really liked the competition, incredible emotions. When you go nose to nose with your opponent, you snatch victory in the last seconds. Why did I decide to participate? I am a dormitory student. Having meal is sacred for us,” Nikita Moskalenko shared his emotions from the victory.

Student Day at VVSU brought together students from eight major universities in Primorye: VVSU (Vladivostok State University), FEFU (Far Eastern Federal University), PSMU (Pacific State Medical University), Makarov Pacific Higher Naval School, Far Eastern Fire and Rescue Academy, Vladivostok branch of the Russian Customs Academy, and the Far Eastern Law Institute of the University of the Prosecutor''''s Office. The event became a true symbol of student life in Vladivostok.
