Students of the preparatory department of the VVSU Institute for the Training of Foreign Citizens continue to learn about the history and culture of the Far East. Foreign students visited the unique museum complex of the Voroshilov Battery.

The Voroshilov Battery is a unique fortification structure in the coastal zone of Vladivostok. It is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest operating battery in the world (from 1934 to 1997). In terms of engineering, there is only one similar military structure in Russia. It is located on the other side of the country, in Sevastopol.

“We arrange this excursion very year in order to introduce our foreign students to the history of Russia, its glorious military traditions, military equipment, and the power of our army. The excursion makes a huge impression on all the students. These are powerful naval guns, three-storey combat and technical rooms for shells and personnel of the Voroshilov Battery. There are thematic stands, weapons and military devices from the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905," said Inna Ishmurzina, a professor of Russian at the Institute for the Training of Foreign Citizens.

As part of the excursion, the students were told about the history of the battery foundation. The students visited the fortress itself, as well as an exhibition of modern weapons of the Russian army.
