Alley of Glory Appears in Dendropark of VVSU on the Occasion of the 80th Anniversary of Victory
On the occasion of the memorable date marking the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, students and staff members of VVSU planted 80 coniferous trees in the university dendropark. Conifers symbolize steadfastness, eternal memory, and prosperity.
The event was attended by First Vice-Rector Sergei Golikov, vice-rectors, heads of university departments, employees, teachers, students, including foreign learners.
"We took an important step towards preserving historical memory and caring for the future by laying out the Alley of Glory dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory," noted Tatiana Terenteva, Rector of VVSU.
"These 80 young fir trees planted on the slope of our university''''''''''''''''s dendropark are not just symbols of respect for the deeds of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, but also a living bridge connecting generations. Each tree embodies the courage of those who defended peace and serves as a reminder that their heroism must live in the hearts of descendants."
The new trees were planted near the cherry blossom alley, visible along the guest route of Vladivostok. Now both residents and tourists will be able to admire these conifers from car roads and pedestrian paths alike.
"A memorial will soon appear nearby, which will become a place of attraction for everyone cherishing the history of our country," added Tatiana Terenteva. "But even now, the green Alley of Glory fulfills its mission, combining natural heritage and historical memory. Our beloved “place of power,” the VVSU Dendropark, has acquired a new meaning. These fluffy conifer beauties will not only cleanse the air and please the eye, but also instill a sense of responsibility for our legacy in students and citizens."
Tatiana Terenteva expressed gratitude to all participants involved in planting the trees.
"Thank you to each one of you who participated in this action! Your hands, your hearts, and your belief in the importance of common cause turned the idea into reality. May these fir trees grow strong and remind us that as long as memory lives, so does the feat," said Tatiana Terenteva, Rector of VVSU.
