The XXII Environmental Conference "Man and the Biosphere" Was Held at Vladivostok State University

The XXII International Youth Environmental Conference "Man and the Biosphere" was held at Vladivostok State University. In 2025, the traditional event became one of the most prestigious youth eco-forums in Russia.

The conference was organized by activists of the Student Scientific Society and the Engineering School of VVSU, the Primorsky branch of the Russian Ecological Academy, the regional interdepartmental commission on environmental education, enlightenment and education of environmental culture (Vladivostok).

Over three days, 50 reports were heard from different regions of Russia: Primorsky Krai, Rostov and Vladimir regions, Krasnoyarsk Krai, North Ossetia, the Sakha Republic, Altai Krai, Amur Region, as well as students from China.

The theme of the conference is the direction of the UNESCO program "Man and the Biosphere" in the field of environmental education and providing scientific knowledge on the conservation of biological diversity on the planet. The conference discussed the study of the state of the environment, its changes under the influence of climate. Particular attention was paid to the study of flora and fauna, the study of natural communities and individual organisms. The issues of environmental design and improvement of territories, as well as ecological and landscape research and the development of measures for their restoration were considered.

Based on the materials of the conference "Man and the Biosphere", a collection of scientific papers of the participants "The Future Depends on Us" will be published.
