Dragons of the East: VVSU Team Wins Silver Medals in Rowing Competition

On Sports Day, a rowing competition was held in Vladivostok on boats of the Dragon class. Ten strongest corporate teams from companies and enterprises of Primorye competed for victory.

The competitions were conducted in a professional format. The teams covered a distance of 200 meters three times. In academic rowing, this is considered indicative: it’s a sprint, pure speed requiring instant reaction and synchronization.

After the first heat, the VVSU team “Typhoon” advanced to the semi-finals. As a result of the second one, they made it to the final stage of the competition. On the finish line, university employees faced competitors from PrimSocBank and the family educational center “Arkhimed”. In fierce competition, “Typhoon” won silver medals.

Vladivostok State University was represented at the competition by Iulia Korneeva, Denis Saichuk, Anna Abyzova, Vitalii Burmistrov, Iulia Kravchenko, Konstantin Nikolaev, Svetlana Dolbilova, Roman Reutskii, Natalia Filozhenko, and Dmitry Gmar.

At the end of the competition, all teams came together in a warm atmosphere. Men from VVSU prepared homemade shurpa. Employees spent the evening not only among colleagues but also true friends.
