VVSU Strengthens Tourism Cooperation with Jilin Province
Vladivostok State University continued hosting delegations from China, welcoming visitors from the Culture and Tourism Department of Jilin province.
University officials receiving the guests included Galina Homilevskaya, Director of the Institute of Tourism and Creative Industries; Pyotr Semin, Director of the Department of International and Cultural Affairs; and Artem Kononov, Associate Professor of Tourism and Hotel-Catering Business.
Sergei Golikov, First Vice-Rector of VVSU, welcomed the guests, informing them about international students enrolled at the university and expressing gratitude for fruitful collaboration with Chinese counterparts.
Chinese masters carrying intangible cultural heritage conducted live workshops teaching traditional craftsmanship. To facilitate knowledge sharing, meetings were arranged with university professors and students.
Participants had the opportunity to learn skills such as:
- Manchu paper-cutting technique known as Laohuaide;
- Xu knot-making;
- Carving pumpkins named after Tezhun;
- Playing morin khuur (two-string bowed instrument);
- Techniques of traditional Chinese massage.
The visit of the Jilin delegation to Vladivostok State University marked another step toward strengthening cooperation with Chinese colleagues. Both parties envision exchanging best practices in tourism and education.
