New Year Celebration Inspired by the Fairy Tale ''The Nutcracker'' at VVSU

In the Winter Garden of Vladivostok State University (VVSU), a series of events dedicated to the upcoming celebration of New Year's Eve in 2026 has been launched. Students, staff and guests of the university had an opportunity to make wishes to Father Frost, participate in the Orange Campaign and receive gifts from their alma mater.

Participants could visit thematic stations:

• Anniversary X Edition of the Orange Campaign organized by the Headquarters of Student Squads. This special event brings hearts together and spreads holiday magic to those who need it most.
• The scent of mandarins and oranges is one of the main symbols of the New Year. Anyone can donate citrus fruits into a designated box in the Winter Garden. All collected fruit will be sent to children’s homes and elderly people who cannot afford festive treats.
• Crackatuk Event hosted by Youth Policy Department. Participants wrote down their wishes on pieces of paper and placed them inside golden nutshells inspired by Ernst Theodor Hoffmann''''s fairy tale “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.” Each letter wrapped in gold symbolizes a Christmas miracle.
• Bazaar “Meeting with Wonder,” an annual charity fair held at VVSU from December 15th to 19th. Here you can find handmade souvenirs, decorations and presents made by local craftsmen. Proceeds from sales go towards charitable causes.
